Paradeplatz – an exemplary square on which Zurich displays its most noble showpieces. It’s where threads run together and courses are set. – In the first image belonging to the series «Paradeplätze», I have no intention of letting this place run wild – I’ve merely planted timber on (some of) the unused surfaces. This should not convey the impression that such a scenario be realizable in this manner. I am however deeply interested in finding out how such places, found all over the world, can increase their value albeit situated already in a noble place like the banking centre of Zurich.
I wove a picture of a forest-clearing near Zurich into a shot taken of the Paradeplatz. Both photos were taken in the first half of 2010. The result is a unique print in large format. An indefinite number of posters is also available.
